Tim Skidmore is considered a tough but controversial fighter with a pro record of only
3 wins and 10 losses. He has become known as a well rounded fighter that was willing to
take a fight on a moments notice anywhere, anytime. Not always known for making the
right choices in his 3 year career, he has been blacklisted from organizations. Suspended
1 year, even for life in some cities and given up completely on MMA. He has rekindled
relationships with promotions and has kept in touch with commissions and promotions
around the world. Realizing that quitting is easier said than done, he is back on the rocky
road to follow his dream of training and fighting full time.

Tim started Cumberland Freestyle Academy over 4 years ago in a friends garage with
no heat in the middle of Febuary. He has since established a following and has produced top
quality fighters out of Amherst N.S.

His martial arts background reaches back to the early days of 1990's learning Japanese
Ju Jitsu, Karate and kickboxing from John Williams Sr. In, 1996 earned black belts in
both styles and decided it was time to spread his wings moved to Calgary. He dabbled in
Muay Thai, Happkido and 5 star Kung Fu. Later in 1997 he moved back to the east
coast and became a proud father of a little girl. He soon found a local martial arts club
Kodokan Judo. Judo came natural because of his extensive Japanese Ju Jitsu
background.

In 1999 he discovered Brazilian Ju Jitsu and realized that his ground game was lacking,
BJJ at that point was only something seen on the UFC. He started cross training
between Judo and BJJ for about 5 years till 2005. He decided that Judo was maxed out
and focused on learning BJJ and MMA from Fitplus and Titans, two well know clubs in
Nova scotia.

In 2005 he opened the first and only MMA club in Cumberland county, and continues to
teach and train whoever is willing to learn.

September 2009 will be the release of his 1 year suspention and he plans to come out full
force in a new weight division. Tim states, "170 lb will be a much better division for
me seeing that I only walk around at 185 or 190lbs, I feel my skills have finally reached
a level where I feel strong and can dominate the competition and would love another
title shot somewhere in the near future."
